Kayak the 7 Caves of La Jolla and Ecological Reserve. Kayakers will likely see California Sea Lions, leopard sharks, Garibaldi (California state fish), and the occasional dolphins. We offer single & double kayaks for our La Jolla kayaking tour.

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, the world’s No. 1 women’s beach volleyball team and reigning gold medallists, went undefeated to win the AVP Crocs Slam Bud Light Long Beach Open Sunday July 27th marking their 18th consecutive tour victory.

Now they and second place finishers and fourth-seeded Jennifer Boss and April Ross will showcase their skills next week in San Diego before heading to Beijing China for the 2008 Olympics.

“We are so happy the AVP Tour is coming back to San Diego” said Rick Elsore, who with friends play three times a week at courts in South Mission Beach. “The AVP Tour is the highlight event of our summer and being the last stop before the Olympics makes it more special”.

That exitement is widespread through out San Diego as many fans
expect teams to be making a final push before showcasing their skills to the world in the Beijing Olympics.

As if that was not good enough you have the team of Jake Gibb / Sean Rosenthal upsetting #1 raked team of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers.

“Having this event in August is a great move and Leonard Armato and the entire AVP staff put on a first class event”, said Mission Beach resident and 5 year AVP Tour fan Mark Fitzgerald “It is the showcase event for San Diego for the 2008 summer and we can’t wait to see the action!” Fitzgerald has been traveling the Southern California coast for five years to see events
in Huntington Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and more.
“It is the greatest show on earth”, he finished with a big smile on his face.

The event will be held at Mariners Point in Mission Beach with tournament action starting August 1st.

The third annual Loew’s Dog Surfing Contest was a great success and everyone
participating had a great time at the event.

This event showcases the fabulous and quiet beaches of “IB”, and also some great
work on the part of Loew’s Resort in Coronado to make it happen.

This event is the largest dog surfing competition in the United States and it continues
to grow each year. It is a great event that gets people and pets out of the house and
puts smiles on the faces on everyone involved.

All proceeds are being donated by Loews Coronado Bay Resort to its Good Neighbor Partner,
Modest Needs Foundation, an inspirational organization that aims to prevent poverty before it begins.

Each dog and team had three waves (or chances) to impress the judges and was scored on confidence level, length of ride and overall ability to “grip it and rip it.”

An Emmy-winning reporter for Channel 4 San Diego, John Weisbarth brings his high energy and an award-winning style to his role as co-host of the Honda Dealers Padres Pre-game show and the Lexus Postgame show. Weisbarth joined Channel 4 San Diego in 2000 as a reporter for UT High School Sports, which earned him an Emmy nomination. Since then, his credits have included Prime Time Padres, Aztecs Sports Weekly, Chargers Preview, and CIF high school playoffs. In 2002, Weisbarth was honored with an Emmy Award in the Sports Report/Feature category for Bowling with Johnny Midnight, and then again in 2004 for his feature on Blake Higgs. Most recently John received two more Emmy’s for features that appeared on Prime Time Padres and Aztecs Sport Weekly.
