Hotels in Mission Beach and Pacific Beach San Diego are finding out about the power of YouTube videos to help increase exposure and provide more information for visitors coming into the San Diego area.

Mission Beach Online a local San Diego based reservation website has seen an increase in traffic and reservations since offering guests a youtube.com video for some of the featured hotels in the area.

“We have seen YouTube as a way to get extra exposure from a source outside our website in addition to providing more information for guests coming into the area”, said Mark Fitzgerald, the marketing director for the website based company. “Unlike many larger reservation services, we are local and provide information that companies outside the area cannot.”

When it comes to San Diego there are a lot of good times to come and visit.

Actually anytime is a good time to visit San Diego, but there are certain times which are great and the winter months are my favorite.

San Diego actually has more sunny days in January than any other month of the year. November and December are also great months with plenty of sunshine and parking at the beaches on weekends.

I like these months of the year because it is sunny from the crack of dawn, (no “June gloom” as you can get in the Spring and early summer months), and when  it does rain, it normally comes through rather fast and cleans out the air for near perfect photos of the local area.

In the summer, getting around everywhere can take some time. The boardwalks are full and so are the parking lots every weekend in the summer along Mission Beach and Mission Bay. In the winter months parking is always easy and wainting for rides at SeaWorld San Diego or Belmont Park is minimal.

Now that gas prices and a slow economy has had an impact on the tourism business, many San Diego beach hotels in Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach and La Jolla are offering some great discounts on hotel room rates to lure customers in over the winter months.

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, the world’s No. 1 women’s beach volleyball team and reigning gold medallists, went undefeated to win the AVP Crocs Slam Bud Light Long Beach Open Sunday July 27th marking their 18th consecutive tour victory.

Now they and second place finishers and fourth-seeded Jennifer Boss and April Ross will showcase their skills next week in San Diego before heading to Beijing China for the 2008 Olympics.

“We are so happy the AVP Tour is coming back to San Diego” said Rick Elsore, who with friends play three times a week at courts in South Mission Beach. “The AVP Tour is the highlight event of our summer and being the last stop before the Olympics makes it more special”.

expect teams to be making a final push before showcasing their skills to the world in the Beijing Olympics.
