Mission Beach “Fathers Day Classic Car Show”
Celebrates Mission Beach Centennial and History
Mission Beach Classic Car Show Video Highlights
June 15th was one of the best days for fathers and photographers as
The Mission Beach Centenial Committee, The Evans Hotels and a local
car show organizer joined forces to create the “1st Annual Mission
Beach Fathers Day Classic Car Show”.
I was in heaven as a long dream came true to shoot the best classic
cars in the world with Belmont Park as my backdrop. Every great
muscle car and hot rod was represented including GTO, Chevy, Ford
and Plymouth muscle cars, hot rods and some of the best classic’s
including 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air and more all with a Southern
California touch including surfboards on many of the vehicles.
Mission Beach is a beach community in San Diego California and
was originally formed in 1914 when official plans for zoning
lots and creating real estate parcels for purchase.
The area is well known for long stretches of boardwalks on both
a “bayside” and oceanfront side and also for “Belmont Park”,
which was originally named “The Mission Beach Amusement Park”
and was one of the best parks in the country graced with
the grand ride being “The Giant Dipper Roller Coaster”.
Offically opened on July 4rth 1925 The Giant Dipper Roller
Coaster remains an icon in the beach area and a direct
representation from past generations of the fun and
entertainment it has provided to thousands of visitors
for over 80 years.
