La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Village a Coastal Paradise
in San Diego and Southern California
As a photographer and writer for a Southern California beach publication I am blessed with being able to travel the Southern California coast at will and choose what subjects to photograph and which not to. La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Village offer some of the nost amazing coastal views and landscapes in Southern California.
It is no wonder then that Ellen Scripps Park, which sits above La Jolla Cove is “San Diego’s most photographed location in the city”, with amazing architecture in the buildings, huge oversized palm trees, huge areas of green grass, coastal walking trails and of course the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and waves crashing on the rocks below. Large numbers of seals live in the area and lay out on the rocks sun bathing while large flocks of pelicans clean themselves and fly out to hunt for fish in the open water.
The amount of wildlife and birds, animals on land is amazing but mix in the thousands of aquatic creatures in the La Jolla Underwater Wildlife Preserve which is part of the La Jolla Cove area and now you can see why scuba divers and snorkelers come by the hundreds daily to swim out on the ocean waters.
Beach hotels and resorts are abundant in the La Jolla Village area which sits on and around La Jolla Cove. The area has a large number of beach resorts, luxury houtique hotels, chain hotels and also budget motels scattered along the way. Many great deals are available on hotel packages in La Jolla and La Jolla Village offering some cheap rates for San Diego travelers and visitors. A local San Diego travel company has deals on about 23 La Jolla hotels and they are updated daily. Once you have checked into your posh hotel the next thing to do is grab somehting to eat and begin to enjoy some of the world class shopping offered right above La Jolla Cove. Some of the best semi dressy restaurants offering ocean views and a hip enviroment to hang out include “Georges at the Cove” and also the new place called “Eddie V’s”, which both include huge patio decks with amazing views of La Jolla Cove and the California coastline.
All the best is included shopping including Polo, Ralph Lauren and a dozen little clothing boutiques and shops that specializing in making you look your best. World class art galleries and museums are also part of the historic culture and ambiance that makes La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Village a must stop for at least a day and even a week depending on your schedule.
