Large Shark Dorsel Fins Spotted 100 Feet Off
San Diego Coast in Mission Beach 2 Day in a Row
Mission Beach has been closed down to swimmers and water
activities after a surfer spotted a 14 inch dosel fin in the water
about 30 yards from shore.
on August 25th a lifeguard spotted an 18 inch dorsel fin in the
water prompting an immediate beach closure.
The second day of shark dorsel fin sightings have officials taking
precautions even though sharks off the California coast are a normal
occurance. The closeness to the beach however was a first in Mission
Beach because of shark sightings and one that had locals talking
as media people swarmed the main Mission Beach Lifeguard Tower
