Loews 6th Annual Dog Surfing Event Brings Hundreds
of Dogs and Thousands of Humans to Imperial Beach

Well another year of the “Dog Surfing Series” World Cup began yesterday with the 6th annual Loews Dog Surfing event taking place in Imperial Beach San Diego. This was by far the BEST year yet for the dog surfing event which has been able to get a good set of sponsors and better yet a growing list of “All Star” surfing canines that are perfecting their surfing skills with their owners.

Owners and their dogs raise money for charity at the Loews Dog Surfing Event
Many of the dogs the surfed yesterday have been doing this for years and they are getting good. As the crowds and world wide exposure increases so does the quality of surfing dogs and also the number of surfing dogs which is great.

The weather yesterday was great and the waves were big as many of the dogs and their owners braved into some 58 degree water ( I was freezing even though the air temp was 70*) to showcase their dogs for helping to raise money for the yearly charity which was the Loews Hotels’ Good Neighbor Policy.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Loews Hotels’ Good Neighbor Policy, the hospitality industry’s first comprehensive community outreach program, which addresses issues ranging from hunger relief and literacy to green practices and the arts. Loews Hotels’ commitment to good corporate citizenship is so strong and deep that with each year the Good Neighbor Policy has evolved and grown. To celebrate this 20 year milestone the company is making a pledge to improve public education, partnering with DonorsChoose.org, a web-based charity supporting public schools in need.
