Surfer Dogs come to the rescue to raise money for San Diego police canines!!!!!!
Dog surfing events are beginning to become part of the
overall surf culture in San Diego as multiple events start
bringing in large crowds, dogs and their owners and
national media attention.
The Loews Annual Dog Surfing Contest took place in
Imperial Beach in San Diego on May 24rth and brought
out some of the best “doggie surfers” in the country.
The waves were a bit on the large side but the dogs braved the elements
and still did agreat job helping to raise money for local San Diego police
Each year a group of dog surfing events are starting to bring in dog owner
groups who spend a lot of time training their dogs to surf including
the newly formed “SoCal Surf Dogs” group who have teamed up their
dogs to help riase money for local charities.
Much of this momentum has come in the last year and a half as a surf
dog named “Riccochet” took on personal charity causes to raise money
by donating earnings to charity groups and people who needed help
with physical therapy and other medical care.
